TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
As an art teacher, my goal is to cultivate creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking in students. I believe that education is power and good design is key to bridge the gap of understanding when language comprehension fails. I encourage experimentation and emphasize that mistakes are valuable steps in the creative process.
In my classroom, I create a supportive environment for growth with intentional lesson plans focused on industry skills at a digestible grade-appropriate level. I aim to develop students visual storytelling ability to help them amplify their unique perspectives and causes.
Ultimately, I hope to empower students with confidence in their creative abilities, encouraging them to think deeply, communicate visually, and express themselves authentically both in and out of the classroom.

About Me
An Illustrator by trade, I am a passionate storyteller and lifelong learner of the arts. I received my B.F.A in Illustration (Animated Illustration and Publication Design) with a minor in Storyboarding from the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in 2022. In the years following graduation I have gained experience in the Editorial and Animation industries as a freelance Illustrator, Character Designer, Supervising Artist, Art Director, and Creative Director. I have taught art classes and workshops at the YMCA of Montclair, The Lark's Nest, and online to see more about my professional experience click here). In my free time I write the webcomics: That's Not Love, and Momic!
